Luck is in the air this spring at the Kentucky Humane Society.
Now through April 15, every donation to KHS will be doubled, up to $15,000, thanks to a generous donor who made our Spring Match possible. That means every gift can go twice as far to help vulnerable animals like Pixie. Every $1 = $2 for animals in need.
When Pixie, a 1-year-old stray poodle, arrived at KHS, she was shaking with fear. Both of her front legs were broken at the wrists. She could not stand or walk, and she was clearly in pain. But even in that frightening moment, Pixie’s sweet nature was impossible to miss.
Our veterinary team acted quickly, giving her pain medication and antibiotics to keep her comfortable and prevent infection. It was clear she needed surgery right away to repair her tiny bones with pins and plates.
Sadly, Pixie is not the only animal to come through our doors in desperate need.
Every month, dogs, cats and horses from across Kentucky arrive at KHS needing urgent help. Some have been abandoned or neglected. Others come from overcrowded situations or unexpected litters. No matter how they get here, they all need the same thing – safety, compassion and a chance at a better life.
That is exactly what your support makes possible. Gifts to KHS help provide lifesaving medical care, food, shelter and the loving attention animals need to heal. They also help prepare pets for the bright futures they deserve with adoptive families.
And right now, your generosity goes even further.
During our Spring Match, a gift of $25 becomes $50 for enrichment, toys and treats. A gift of $50 becomes $100 for vaccines. A gift of $100 becomes $200 to help cover a spay or neuter surgery. A gift of $250 becomes $500 for lifesaving supplies for puppies and kittens. A gift of $500 becomes $1,000 to help care for a horse at Willow Hope Farm.
Because of caring supporters, Pixie received the surgery and foster care she needed to heal. This spring, you can help change the luck of animals like her.
Make your gift by April 15 and double your impact to help twice as many homeless animals get the care and second chances they need.
Every $1 = $2 for animals in need.
