Magic and Jelly Belly Updates

Magic Awaits Surgery to Recover from Gunshot

It has been about a month since Magic arrived at KHS with a broken jaw caused by a vicious gunshot to his head. Miraculously, our sweet boy has been in good spirits as he slowly recovers. The wound above his eye and the painful slice in his tongue – both caused by the bullet ripping through his face – have begun to close and heal, but his left jaw is still very sensitive. A specialist has determined that Magic needs surgery to remove the remaining tooth roots that are causing the pain in his jaw. Surgeries are so expensive, but with your help, we can be there for Magic so that he can fully recover from this violent and traumatic event. Please donate in his honor so that we can continue to be here for these deserving animals who have nowhere else to turn.

Jelly Belly Moves to Foster to Heal

Thank you for the kindness and support you have shown Jelly Belly, who came to KHS last week after being hit by a car. The sweet kitty is slowly healing from the removal of an infected eye and emergency surgery on her fractured jaw, but she has a very long road ahead of her. Her poor jaw will remain wired shut for about six weeks, but at least her infected eye no longer causes her pain. We sent her to a foster home this week, where she can continue to heal in quiet and comfort. We are so thankful for your support so that we can give animals like Jelly Belly their second chance to live a happy, healthy life!

As a private non-profit, we receive no government funding and rely completely on donations from supporters like you to help animals like Jelly Belly and Magic. Please donate in their honor today and together we can make sure we’re here for every animal who comes to our door in need of help. Thank you for your generosity and compassion!
