Meet the tiny but mighty Possum!
Possum is a four-week-old kitten who was surrendered to an overcrowded shelter in need of specialized care. When the municipal shelter did not have the resources to care for such a fragile kitten, they reached out to the Kentucky Humane Society to see if we would be able to help.
After lining up an experienced cat foster parent for Possum, he was transported to KHS and checked out by our veterinary team. Right away we knew he was special!
Possum has a congenital deformity in both of his front legs that causes them to bend inward. While walking is more difficult for Possum, he does a very good army crawl on his front limbs and is able to get around pretty well despite his deformities! Possum is now spending time in his experienced foster home where he will grow and socialize like any normal kitten. Please join us in cheering this .70 lb baby on!
