Fluffernutter Update 11/22/2024
Our sweet girl Fluffernutter is still fighting for her life against Parvovirus after recently arriving at our Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center in terrible shape. At just 8 months old, her tiny body is struggling to fend off this terrible virus as it simultaneously battles a severe eye infection.
Fluffernutter is suffering from constant diarrhea, vomiting and lethargy, and she is still not eating or drinking independently. She’s so weak she can hardly walk. It breaks our heart to see this young dog so downtrodden by this easily preventable disease. Our dedicated veterinary team is providing her with round-the-clock medications, nutrition and fluids, while compassionately encouraging her to keep fighting. We hope that the next few days will see some improvement for Fluffernutter, and will keep you posted on her progress. In the meantime, please continue sending words of encouragement and donations in her honor. Right now, ALL donations are being matched up to $50,000 thanks to a generous, anonymous donor. That means your gift will DOUBLE to support emergency medical care for TWICE as many animals like Fluffernutter. Thank you!
Puppy Battling Parvo Needs You
Fluffernutter, an eight-month-old Shih Tzu puppy, was recently rushed to our Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center fighting for her life with Parvovirus (Parvo) – an extremely contagious virus that causes intestinal damage, dehydration and secondary infections, and often leads to death for unvaccinated dogs. Thankfully, KHS has a dedicated Parvo Quarantine Ward, allowing us to provide the specialized care she urgently needs.
Fluffernutter is in critical condition in our medical isolation wing. She is struggling to eat or drink, suffers from persistent lethargy and diarrhea, and is so weak she cannot stand. To make matters worse, she is also battling a severe eye infection that has further weakened her frail body. Our dedicated team is closely monitoring Fluffernutter’s condition, administering round-the-clock medication and providing hydration and nutrition through I.V. lines.
We will keep you updated on Fluffernutter’s condition. In the meantime, please donate to support lifesaving medical care for countless animals like her, who come to KHS with nowhere else to turn. Thanks to a generous donor, all gifts are being matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, through December 31. That means your gift will double to Give Hope to twice as many vulnerable animals like Fluffernutter.
