This Sunday, Oct. 27, get up close and personal with a Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) rescue horse during “The Gallop Out to Bill Collins Equine Event” at Bill Collins Ford of Louisville, 4220 Bardstown Road.
From 12-3 pm, Silver Fox – a beautiful gray Quarter Horse – will be at this free event. There will also be adorable KHS puppies to play with, food, drinks, giveaways and a live remote with radio station WXMA 102.3.
And for every test drive during the event, The Collins Auto Group will donate $25 to KHS for their Equine program, which rescues, rehabilitates and finds new homes and careers for Kentucky’s horses in transition.
“Silver Fox is a gentle and kind gelding who is a former lessons horse and trail rider. He was emaciated before we rescued him, but now he’s healthy and ready for adoption,” says Shara Wiesenhauer, KHS Equine Director. “We are excited to partner with The Bill Collins Auto Group to raise awareness about wonderful horses like Silver Fox who are looking for their second careers.”
KHS has rescued, rehabilitated and found homes for more than 300 horses since 2015. Some have gone on to compete as show horses, others are trail riders, some are therapy horses, and others are beloved companions. Learn more about the Equine program at www.kyhumane.org/horses.
