Cat Undergoes Tail Amputation at KHS

Bobbie Needs Your Support

Bobbie recently arrived at our Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center crying out for help – literally. This small two-year-old cat’s tail was clearly broken, completely immobile and causing this poor girl unthinkable amounts of pain. Though we’ll never know what caused Bobbie to suffer such a severe injury, we’ve promised to help her make a full recovery.

X-rays showed us that Bobbie’s tail was broken from the base to the tip. The severity of her injury combined with extreme nerve damage left her in uncontrollable pain, with medication barely scratching the surface of her discomfort. We knew the only way to prevent Bobbie from suffering any further was to quickly prep her for tail amputation surgery.

Bobbie’s amputation surgery went well, and she’s now recovering under the watchful eyes of our vet team. Thankfully, we expect her recovery to be short and believe she’ll start looking for her forever home later this week. For now, we’re just grateful she is getting all of the tender loving care she’s been craving for so long. Please donate in Bobbie’s honor so that we can be there for every broken, forgotten and abandoned animal who comes through our doors in need of help. Together, we can continue saving cats like Bobbie.
