Maggie is a very tiny two-month-old calico who arrived at the Kentucky Humane Society on June 3, 2020 with a horrific injury. The poor kitten’s right front paw had been degloved leaving behind a painful, necrotic foot that was infested with maggots.

Our veterinary team went right to work cleaning her wound and treating her for the pain. Due to the extensive damage, it was determined that Maggie’s limb could not be saved and she would need an immediate amputation to help her get better.

Maggie has since undergone surgery to have badly damaged limb removed and is now recovering in a loving foster home. Since coming into foster care, Maggie is doing so much better! Her foster says she loves all the attention she’s getting and has become especially fond of their resident ‘cat dad’ Ernie, who grooms her like she’s his very own.
