Dear Friend of the Animals,
At just six weeks of age, Ruby had already known a lifetime of heartache.
She was abandoned by her owners in rural Kentucky. By the time her rescuers found her and brought her to the Kentucky Humane Society, both of her front legs were broken, and the tiny puppy was fighting for her life.
Without help, Ruby wouldn’t survive much longer. She needed urgent medical care to relieve her pain — and plenty of food, and loving attention to regain her strength and spirit.
With your support, we were able to heal Ruby’s broken bones and heart. And today, I’ve got great news about how you can help even more animals like her!
The Kentucky Humane Society’s Board of Directors has offered to match — DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR — every gift we receive before midnight on December 31 … up to a total of $35,000.
The Kentucky Humane Society is our state’s largest pet adoption agency, and spay/neuter provider. Thanks to donors like you, we take in and find homes for more than 6,000 cats, dogs and horses every year. We help animals not only in Jefferson County, but from all corners of Kentucky. But we can only do it with your support.
Your donations allow us give Kentucky’s needy animals lifesaving medical care, nutritious food, kindness — and forever homes.
That’s what happened to Ruby. At KHS, Ruby was placed in a loving foster home so she could heal from her serious injuries. Finally her little pink casts came off, and she was ready for adoption. The Richardson family realized that Ruby was the perfect addition, and they adopted her.
“Our entire family fell in love with her,” explains Kathy. “Ruby makes us laugh every day. She’s a happy, joyful puppy.”
You can help give joy and hope this holiday season to Kentucky’s needy animals. Please send your gift today to save twice as many lives.
With gratitude, best wishes for a happy, holiday season.
