Help us earn $10,000 in matching funds when you donate today
Our community lost an icon when Coach Denny Crum passed away on May 9. His basketball record is legendary, and he is beloved by University of Louisville Cardinal fans. What many may not know is that the man our community considers a hero was a humble man – and a dog lover.
Denny took great joy in his dogs and was supportive of the Kentucky Humane Society. Long-time KHS friend and member of the KHS Advisory Board, Patti Swope, wants to recognize Coach Crum and his legacy. In honor of Coach Crum, Patti will match all donations made to KHS, up to $10,000, made by May 29.
Coach Crum and his wife, Susan, had as many as five furry friends on their rural property – a dog’s dream home. “Even with five dogs that had the run of the house, Denny was always thinking about the next addition,” said Susan.
“I had the good fortune to be acquainted with Denny and Susan and always admired his unassuming and kind nature. I want to honor his gifts to our community by making one of my own, in his memory, to a cause that was dear to his heart, and mine as well. Please join me in honoring Coach Crum by making a donation to support the work of the Kentucky Humane Society,” said Patti.
Your gift in Coach Crum’s honor will help support KHS’ lifesaving mission to care for every dog, cat and horse that comes through our doors. On behalf of the animals, thank you.
