Donate by April 14 to Have Your Gift Matched

Dear Friend of Animals,

I’m excited to tell you about an amazing matching gift opportunity — and to introduce you to two little lives you can help.

Right now, thanks to three amazing animal advocates, we have a $30,000 Spring Matching Gift Challenge! Every gift the Kentucky Humane Society receives before April 14 will be matched, dollar for dollar, until the challenge is met.

Will you help us meet this $30,000 Spring Matching Gift Challenge by making a donation? If sent before April 14, it will save twice as many innocent lives. Please send your gift today.

spring matchSpring is a very busy time the shelter, with so many innocent puppies, kittens and foals being born. I hope these precious animals can count on you today … and so do Teddy and Veronica.

Teddy and Veronica were born — literally — on the way to the Kentucky Humane Society. Their mother, Vana, was heavily pregnant when we rescued her from a rural county in Western Kentucky.

When our shelter team opened the door to the KHS rescue vehicle, gently nuzzling. We made Vana comfortable in an office so she could welcome the rest of her family. One after another they appeared … until there were 13!

Vana had arrived at our shelter’s doors — just in the nick of time. But her puppies’ fight for survival wasn’t over yet. Health problems develop quickly in animals so young. Vana struggled to provide enough milk, and the puppies needed to be bottle fed. Teddy and Veronica were especially fragile. It took time — and plenty of love — until they were ready for a forever home.

Teddy and Veronica are just two of hundreds of puppies, kittens and foals we’ll rescue this spring. The Kentucky Humane Society saves companion animals not only in Jefferson County, but in all corners of Kentucky.

We provide each with the love, nutrition and medical care they need to thrive — and then we find them wonderful families who love them forever. But we can only do it with your support.

There are so many dogs, cats and horses throughout Kentucky who are waiting your help right now. Animals who otherwise have nowhere to turn.

Please send in the enclosed matching gift voucher(s) with your gift before April 14 to save twice as many lives. On behalf of the animals who will be served by your kindness, thank you.

With gratitude,

Lori Kane Redmon
President and CEO

P.S. If made before April 14, your gift will be matched — and save twice as many lives!
