Aurelia Zilinskas is a full-time student at the University of Louisville. She is two months away from graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Aurelia currently volunteers at the Sam Swope Pet TLC in the Pet Photography Department. Aurelia assists with photographing and posing animals for pictures. This program focuses on capturing high-quality images of adoptable animals that our staff uses on the website and for PR/marketing purposes. She is thankful for “the opportunity to meet and interact with each pet as they become a great memory to me,” she says.
When not volunteering with Pet Photography, Aurelia spends time with cats at the shelter by socializing and offering enrichment. She also participates in the new “Date with a Dog” program where volunteers can give a dog a break from the shelter environment. She enjoyed her “date” with a dog that included a car ride, walk in the park and a day full of fun and treats.
“Don’t hesitate to begin volunteering! I look forward to coming in to volunteer each week. I always have so much fun interacting with the pets and being around a group of amazing people,” Aurelia says.
When not volunteering, Aurelia can found spoiling her two cats, Kuro and Suki. She also enjoys relaxing with a good book. On occasion, she can be found doing some form of art.
Aurelia is pictured with Sierra, a two-year-old cat looking for her forever home.
Thank you to Raising Cane’s for their sponsorship of the volunteer program.
