Incredible! Over 800 Supporters Join Matching Gift Challenge for COVID-19 Relief
The Kentucky Humane Society asked for your help, and you delivered!
The Joanne Gauntt Charitable Foundation provided a $35,000 matching gift challenge for COVID-19 emergency relief: They offered to match donations made between April 16 to 23.
More than 800 animal lovers donated over $53,000 for this challenge! With the Gauntt Foundation’s match, that’s over $88,000 to help needy dogs, cats and horses – and the people who love them. Your support means so much during these difficult times.
View a thank you message from our President & CEO, Lori Redmon:
The pandemic has impacted every aspect of KHS’ operations. We’ve had to cancel or delay fundraising events, close revenue-generating areas like our Pet Resorts, and temporarily suspend or change many of our services.
The pandemic has taught us how to do things differently to help keep our community safe while serving the animals who need us. We are offering remote dog, cat and horse adoptions, virtual dog training, and curbside pickup of preventives at our Healthy Pets Clinic.
We are also helping people financially impacted by the pandemic. Over 1,200 families have received food assistance through our COVID-19 Pet Food Bank, and our Pet Help Line is counseling hundreds of families a week.
We are grateful for your compassion for needy animals and your belief in our lifesaving mission. With your help, the Kentucky Humane Society will be here for animals who need us – now and in the future.
