Kentucky Humane Society Offers $25 Adoptions on Most Adult Dogs at Feeders Supply Stores May 17-19, adoption fees lowered for dogs 25 pounds or more.

LOUISVILLE KY – Looking for your forever friend? The Kentucky Humane Society is lowering adoption fees on most adult dogs to just $25 at seven Feeders Supply adoption centers this weekend.

May 17-19, adopters can take home a dog 25 pounds or more for just $25. Participating Feeders Supply stores are Hikes Point, Fern Creek, Preston, Springhurst, St. Matthews, Dixie and North Dixie (Shively). Adoption centers are open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday with adoptions stopping one hour before close. The KHS East Campus is closed through May 31 for renovations.

“We’ve got lots of wonderful medium to large dogs who are waiting for families to adoption them,” said Robin Vincent, KHS Shelter Operations Director. “To help them find homes faster and make room for incoming animals, we are lowering adoption fees this weekend.”

Dogs that are part of the $25 special will be identified on the KHS website, www.kyhumane.org/dogs. Adoptions will take place at KHS adoption centers at seven local Feeders Supply stores.

While adoption fees are reduced, the adoption process remains the same. Families will fill out an application and meet with an adoption counselor to ensure every pet finds the right home. All pets are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Jefferson County residents also pay $10.50 for pet licensing, and donations are gratefully accepted.
